Council Homes Set For Upgrades
Work on more than 630 Falkirk Council properties has been given the green light that will see new work carried out on roughcasting, re-roofing and new high-efficiency central heating systems installed.
A meeting of the Policy and Resources Committee approved a spend of £2.3m on the properties located in over a dozen locations throughout the area.
Over £1m will be spent on new central heating systems in nearly 500 properties in 11 locations including Hallglen, Bonnybridge, Denny, Dunipace, Banknock and Camelon.
85 properties in Bonnybridge will benefit from new roughcasting and roofing at a value of £785k and 46 properties in Stenhousemuir, Larbert and Carronshore will also have similar work carried out at a value of £500k.
Councillor Craig Martin, Convener of Policy and Resources said: “We have a ongoing programme of works to our Council properties that will ensure our tenants have a safe and warm environment in which to live.
“This investment will ensure our properties also come up to meeting national standards set for the coming years.”
