A new agenda is being set for the future of the Falkirk Council area, thanks to community partnership.
The recent Community Planning conference demonstrated good progress made by partners across a range of achievements and came up with ideas on improvements for the future.
The conference gave community representatives a clear idea of just what had been achieved in the first year of the Community Planning Partnership's Single Outcome Agreement (SOA) ranging from the £25 million Big Lottery funding for the HELIX and progress on integrating children's services to collaboration on carbon management and the Community Litter Strategy.
The SOA sets out how Falkirk Council and its community planning partners, which include police, fire and health, spend their resources to improve the lives of local people. The Conference also focused on where it is making a practical difference in people's lives like : Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service's work with young people and the impact of willful fire raising the Council's Employment.
Training partnerships work with other organisations to improve the number of young people going into employment, further education and training, and the role of volunteers in supporting the community.
Community representatives took part in a series of workshops to help the partners prepare a new SOA for next year and look at how the partnership involves the community and voluntary sectors in future.
