Policy Development Panel - Economic Strategy Agenda - 15 June 2015, 14:00

The scope of the Policy Development Panel is to review the current Economic Strategy and develop an updated Strategy by September 2015. This includes the promotion of the area for economic development. The Council's Economic Strategy was last updated in February 2010 and the refreshed My Future's in Falkirk - The Way Forward introduced a medium-term framework for recovery and growth and this has been pursued as the area's Economic Strategy with a strong marketing and communications element through its website www.myfuturesinfalkirk.co.uk, a quarterly business magazine, Falkirk Business Panel events, PR activity and advertising. Since 2010 the marketing focus has included specific promotion of the area for business, including inward investment. The revised Economic Strategy will reflect the recent changes in the economic environment, business needs, opportunities and challenges for the next 5 - 10 years. This second meeting will discuss economic review and other economic evidence, agree priorities and structure of new Economic Strategy and instruct officers to prepare a draft strategy for the next meeting.
