Falkirk's Foodbank is to benefit from a £1,032 donation from the Housing service following a rent consultation incentive.

For each completed return by Falkirk Council tenants of the 2019 Rent Increase Consultation, £1 was donated to the Falkirk Foodbank. The charity will use the money to alleviate the effects of hunger in the Falkirk area.

The charity donation incentive is a cost-effective method of encouraging survey responses, whilst benefiting a local charitable organisation at a crucial time of year with Christmas now just days away.

Community Engagement Co-ordinator for Housing, Alan Christie, presented a cheque to Jim Couper, manager of the Falkirk Foodbank, on 11 December 2018 at the foodbank premises (pictured, left).

Data collected from survey responses will be used to advance Falkirk Council strategies in the local area.

News of the cash donation to the charity follows a recent food donation to Falkirk's Foodbank, which was organised and delivered by Council staff members from Municipal Buildings.
