The Council needs to make big changes to the way it operates.

In February, you heard from your manager that we’re producing a five-year business plan that will help us transform how we do things.

This business plan will explain:

  • How we will be spending around £2.58bn to deliver services over the next five years.
  • How we will save an estimated £76m from our General Fund by 2024.
  • Our vision for doing this and our approach to transforming into a more modern, digital and efficient organisation – one that works in partnership with our communities and other bodies to use resources effectively and deliver services in new ways.

On Tuesday, May 14th the business plan will be considered by the Executive. On the day, no decisions will be taken by elected members on any specific savings proposed.

In advance of this meeting, your manager will organise a team briefing to explain the content of the business plan – and how it may affect your team - from Tuesday, April 30th onwards.

Further correspondence regarding the business plan will be issued over the coming weeks.
