You can meet and discuss issues with guest speakers and Private Sector Team staff on a one-to-one basis. 

Falkirk Council’s Private Sector Team are holding a Landlord and Agent Forum on Thursday 10 May 2018 at the usual venue of Falkirk Town Hall, West Bridge Street, Falkirk, FK1 5RS map

This free event will take place from 2pm – 4:15pm. There will be limited free parking in the car park directly in front of the venue. There is also an adjacent car park in front of the council’s Municipal Building (which is pay & display until 3pm, then free thereafter).

The speakers will be:

  1. Aileen Devanny (President of the Housing & Property Chamber – First Tier Tribunal), on resolving disputes before the Housing and Property Chamber.
  2. Denise Holmes (Senior Policy Officer) and Scott Boyd (Policy Officer) from the Scottish Government Directorate for Housing and Social Justice, on the forthcoming public consultation on changes to the registration of private landlords (including expanding the information required for registration and also the fee structure).
  3. Lorna Chisholm (Benefits Manager – Falkirk Council), on changes to the benefit system surrounding Universal Credit.
