Residents are being asked to give their views on Zetland Park in Grangemouth to help create a masterplan for the site.

It is hoped that a community-backed plan will attract new funding into the greenspace, which was opened in 1882 and named after the Earl of Zetland.

People interested in sharing their views can drop-into local consultation events. These will take place at:

  • 12pm - 4pm on Friday, November 21, in York Square, Grangemouth Town Centre
  • 3pm - 7pm on Monday, November 24 at Kersiebank Community Project, Oxgang Road
  • 10am - 5pm on Friday, November 28 at Grangemouth Library, Bo’ness Road

Cllr Adrian Mahoney, Falkirk Council’s Culture, Leisure and Tourism spokesman, said: “Zetland Park is incredibly important to local people. In recent months we’ve replaced bridges into the park and launched new tennis courts.

“But there’s much more we can do. Hopefully residents will attend the drop in sessions and share their views to help us look at future proposals to make the park even better.”

The Friends of Zetland Park and Falkirk Council have been working in partnership since 2007 to improve the park and the masterplan will create a vision for the park going forward.
