A new partnership is helping local communities across the Falkirk Council area to get more out of their parks and open spaces.

MyParkScotland is joining forces with Falkirk Council and Falkirk Community Trust to help local people and visitors alike get the most from 14 locations across the area with more to be added at a later date.

The new MyParkScotland website gives details of all the activities and facilities available at each location and lists events, stories and explains how you can help get involved.

It also provides a crowdfunding platform that allows local residents and businesses to support improvements led by community groups and other local groups safely.

Richard Broadley, Planning and Environment Manager said: “MyParkScotland is a first for the Falkirk Council area and is another tool to help promote and improve the parks and other green spaces locally.

“More importantly, this innovative initiative will help community led parks projects generate the resources they need through crowd funding.  With more parks being added all the time, I would encourage anyone with an interest in their local parks to visit the website to discover what MyParkScotland can do for them.”

Ian Goodman, MyParkScotland Project Manager said: “MyParkScotland isn’t just a super information website, it also provides a new way for everyone who loves the Falkirk Council area’s parks and open spaces to support our treasured parks.”

MyParkScotland was developed by social enterprise greenspace scotland and supported as part of the charity Nesta’s Rethinking Parks Initiative which is exploring new ways to use, manage and make the most of the UK’s public parks.
