Request a Special Uplift
Collection Information
- Uplifts will be restricted to normal household materials that cannot fit into a wheeled bin container, e.g. furniture, white goods, and/or bags of mixed wastes that are not suitable for recycling.
- There will be a maximum number of 5 items per uplift (e.g. 5 individual items of furniture or 5 black bags/tied bundles).
- DIY and demolition debris such as windows, doors, kitchen units, bathroom suites, garden sheds, bricks, slabs or builders rubble will not be collected. This should be disposed of using the recycling sites at Roughmute and Kinneil Kerse or the commercial skip collection services widely available.
- Storage heaters, vehicle parts and hazardous wastes such as asbestos will not be collected by special uplift.
Charges
- Non chargeable uplifts will be restricted to a maximum of 2 uplifts per household per annum, 2 non chargeable. Customers requesting a special uplift online, who have already requested 2 uplifts will receive a message advising them to telephone Falkirk Council's Contact Centre on 01324 504411.
- If the 2 non chargeable uplifts are exceeded a charge of £22.00 (including VAT) per uplift will be applied for each of the remaining 2 uplifts.
- In order to ensure ease of use the Recycling Centres will continue to be open (April - September 8 am - 8 pm, October - March 9 am - 6 pm) 7 days a week to ensure any bulky items can be disposed of at the householders convenience. Please note, last access to the sites will be 15 minutes before the closing time. The Recycling Centres will be closed on Christmas day and New Years day.
Please Ensure
- Garden refuse is bagged or tied in bundles (and can be lifted by one person above waist height)
- Fire safety - please store all materials waiting to be uplifted safely and where possible approximately 3m away from your building.
