A baby naming ceremony is a special way of celebrating your child's birth and welcoming
the new arrival into the family.
It is an opportunity to declare, before family and friends, your promise to your
child and an opportunity for adult friends, chosen by you, to pledge their special
relationship with your child. It is a unique occasion for everyone to feel involved
and to offer their support in your child's future development.
What happens at a naming ceremony?
The ceremony will be personalised according to your requirements, but all naming
ceremonies have six essential sections:
- Introduction and welcome by the Ceremonies Officer
- Naming of the child
- Parents' promises
- Supporting adults promises
- Closing words
You may also wish to include:
- Reasons for the choice of name
- Acknowledgement or thanks to grandparents
- Acknowledgement of absent relatives and friends
How much will it cost?
|Monday to Friday
A £100 deposit (non-refundable) is payable on booking a baby naming ceremony.
The fee displayed in the above table is for a ceremonies officer to conduct the
ceremony. If the ceremony is held within a Falkirk Council ceremony room there is
no additional charge.
Should you wish to hold the ceremony within an approved licensed venue then you
may be charged an additional fee. All enquiries in relation to prices and availability
must be made directly to the venue.
