Electoral registration
Each autumn forms are issued to every household in the Council area for completion with the names of all eligible electors.
It is a legal requirement that the householder completes the form accurately with all the names of all resident British, British Commonwealth, Republic of Ireland and European Union citizens. Guidance on completion is included on the form.
Download a copy of the electoral registration form here.
All European Union Citizens are eligible to register to vote. They can vote in local government elections, Scottish Parliament elections and, if they register on a special form, European Union Parliament Elections.
An option was included for the first time in 2002 on whether an elector wanted his/her name to appear or not in an Edited Register of Electors.
