Falkirk Council is responsible for the administration of a wide range of licences and permits issued under various pieces of legislation. Generally, these fall into the following categories:
Alcohol and Gambling Licences and Permits granted by Falkirk Council Licensing Board in terms of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Gambling Act 2005. These include personal and premises licences and are administered on a day to day basis by the licensing section.
Civic Government Licences and permits granted by Falkirk Council Civic Licensing Committee in terms of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982. These include Taxis, Late Hours Catering, Street Trading, Window Cleaning etc and Public Charitable Collections such as Door to Door Collections and Street Collections and are administered on a day to day basis by the licensing section.
Miscellaneous Licences, Registrations and Permits including:
Licences and Registrations for the sale and storage of Explosives, Fireworks and Petroleum and administered on a day to day basis by the Trading Standards Team
Animal welfare premises (including animal boarding establishments, such as kennels and catteries; dog breeders; horse riding establishments; pet shops; and dangerous wild animals) and administered on a day to day basis by the Environmental Protection Unit.
