Licensing Forum

Falkirk Council's Licensing Forum helps shape the policies that affect licensing decisions locally.

The Forum works with the Licensing Board by making recommendations and suggestions on a wide range of issues connected with licensing, but not in respect of any particular case.

The Forum typically looks at:

  • What is happening in the area in relation to alcohol and licensed premises?
  • Is the Licensing Board making decisions in line with what is stated in their Policy?
  • What is the effect of the Board's decisions in the area?
  • Does more need to be done, and if so, how does this impact on the Licensing Policy?

The Forum gathers evidence from a range of sources to support its views.

The Forums consists of a cross section of interested individuals including police, educational, health, social work, young people and license trade representatives, a Licensing Standards Officer and members of the public. Falkirk Local Licensing Forum has 15 members, namely:
