Childminders are registered with the Care Inspectorate
to provide care and education in their own home for other people's children.
Each childminder is a self-employed small business and they take care of their own
tax and national insurance. Parents and carers complete a contract agreeing hours,
service and costs.
National Care Standards
can help you decide about a service, they are the minimum standard required by law
and services are scored against how well they meet the standards.
All adults living in the childminders home must have a
Disclosure check completed.
