Communication skills

Falkirk Council’s Community Education Service runs a range of free courses (with free crèche) based on your learning needs.

Communicating with others - for example with family and friends, workmates, and professionals - is part of everyday life and this course will help you to improve skills in the areas you identify. You can come along on your own or with a friend and a creche can be made available if needed.

This course usually runs once a week for around eight weeks and features different topics like:

  • Getting your point across: how to communicate better
  • Numbers, spelling and grammar: brush up on what you’ve forgotten from school
  • Texting: a new way of communicating
  • Interview skills: basic tips for success

All courses are run in groups with you deciding at the beginning what youwant to achieve. As the weeks go by, you will be able to see how you have improved in the identified areas. At the end of the course you will be able to get advice on where you go from there.
