Special needs support

Community Education Services offers a community learning and development approach to people with special needs by encouraging participation in activities that aim to build knowledge, confidence and skills and further increase power and influence.

  • Equal People Group: self advocacy group campaigning for equal opportunities and social justice.
  • Drop in centre: a modern facility offering coffee bar, computers, pool and the opportunity to socialise and make new friends.
  • Current Affairs Discussion Group: provides an opportunity to discuss topical issues and raise personal, social and political awareness.
  • People Need People Music Group: meeting in Park Street, this group offers people with mental health issues the opportunity to take part in learning a musical instrument in a supportive environment.
  • People Need People Art Group: meeting in Park Street, this group offers people with mental health issues the opportunity to take part in Arts and Crafts activities,
  • PEN Group: enables people with learning difficulties to take part in discussions, reading, writing and using computers.
