Shieldhill Community Wing is attached to Shieldhill Primary School, although it has its own entrance and you cannot enter either building via the other.
The wing principally consists of a medium-sized hall with soft seating and kitchen facilities. There are toilets with a pull-down baby changing platform. There is also a small office space, used by the centre's administrator.

Activity details
Community Council
Community Councils are non-party political groups set up in local areas and elected by local people. They are supported by Falkirk Council and have a legal status which gives them certain rights. For example, they must be consulted about prominent local planning and licensing issues. They discuss local problems and work on ways of solving them. Non-members can attend and even help out with their campaigns.
Shieldhill and California Community Council normally meets in the Community Wing on the last Thursday of the month from 7.30 to 9.30pm.
Please contact Joe Hampson, Chairperson or Doreen Meikle at the Community Wing.
Credit Union
A credit union is a type of community, not-for-profit bank where you can save money regularly, even if only a small amount. After having saved for a certain time, you are able to apply for a loan that you can pay back at the same time as you put in money to save. The interest you are charged on any loan is kept as low as possible.
The Upper Braes Credit Union uses the Community Wing as a collection point to receive members' savings and loan repayments or to sign up new members.
New members are always welcome. Please contact Mary Main or Doreen Meikle at the Community Wing.
ECDL Computer Class
This class is provided through Forth Valley College's Community Access Programme. The class helps you gain a European Computer Driving Licence qualification, at your own pace, a step at a time. The class uses Shieldhill Primary School's computer suite (with the kind permission of the school).
New participants welcome. Some places available but they are limited by the number of computers in the IT suite. Charges can apply but there are fee waivers for people receiving certain benefits and Individual Learning Accounts can be applied for.
Please contact Doreen Meikle at the Community Wing.
First 4 Kids
This is an out-of-school care service, which runs during term times and uses the hall in the Community Wing. Charges apply. Please telephone Christine Robertson (01324 671344) to see if spaces are available.
Friday Club
This is a group for people over 60. They meet on Friday afternoons before the lunch club and take part in a variety of social, recreational and educational activities. It is friendly and informal.
New members are always welcome. Please contact Doreen Meikle at the Community Wing.
Lunch Club
This club is for the over-60s. Members have a nice lunch in the school canteen followed by a cuppa and a blether in the Community Wing.
New members are always welcome. Please contact Doreen Meikle at the Community Wing.
Toddler Group
The Toddler Group is for children from birth to three years old and parents, grandparents or carers. New members welcome.
Contact: Lynne Cameron or Doreen Meikle at the Community Wing.
Youth Club
The Youth Club meets in the Community Wing for social, recreational and sporting activities.
Please contact John Henderson or Doreen Meikle at the Community Wing.
