The Youth Achievement Awards are a peer education approach to recognising and accrediting young peoples' achievements. They are designed to encourage young people to take a more active role in activities.
Youth Achievement Awards come in four levels:
-
Bronze: you take part in activities
-
Silver: you help to organise activities
-
Gold: you plan, organise and lead your own activity
-
Platinum: you take on a leadership and peer education role at platinum
Last year the Youth Learning Team (Community Service) supported 27 young people to achieve a Youth Achievement Award.
Some of the activities young people were involved in were:
-
organising discos
-
peer-education
-
organising trips for their local youth club
-
writing a heath health magazine
-
attending a confidence course
