National Theatre of Scotland headlines new season of theatre at fth
The National Theatre of Scotland (NTS) is coming to FTH (Falkirk Town Hall) for the first time on Saturday 27 March 2010 at 2.30pm with a new production for young people - Mr Write.
It's a play that's not written yet and doesn't have a name. Mr Write aka Rob Drummond (playwright, performer, optimist) will choose the cast, the story and the title on the day. It's not written because it will be one of the audience's stories and Rob hasn't met them yet. Can he persuade one of them to take part?
The National Theatre of Scotland celebrated its fourth birthday this month and as Scotland's national theatre exists to work collaboratively to produce and tour world class theatre.
The NTS 's long anticipated visit is the jewel in this year's programme. Other highlights include Rapture Theatre's new production of Shakespeare's Hamlet set in the gritty Glasgow underworld and starring TV's Dave Anderson and award winning Mull Theatre's light hearted yet poignant tribute to the legendary Laurel and Hardy, by Tom McGrath in April.
The season culminates with brand new writing from internationally acclaimed author and playwright Des Dillon. The Blue Hen is a dark new comedy of self sufficiency on the dole in Coatbridge and stars Charles Lawson (Jim Macdonald from ITV's Coronation Street.)
There is also the opportunity to chat with the creative team, actors and director after each performance over a drink in the Lounge Bar.
