The collection holds historical directories of the area, works by local authors, local organisations and information on the industrial history of the Falkirk Council area. There is a wealth of information on the iron industry and canals. The library also holds the Council minutes from the Burgh Councils to the present Falkirk Council.

Newspapers

Local newspapers, such as the Falkirk Herald, Grangemouth and Falkirk Advertisers and Bo’ness Journal are held on microfilm. Falkirk Library also holds the back issues of the Falkirk Mail.
