New Larbert Library opens its doors
The new library building opened Monday 21 April.
The distinctive building, overlooking Crownest Park, is spacious, bright and comfortable. There is full disabled access, a community room upstairs, coffee corner, computer area with Wi-Fi access, a delightful children's corner, lots of comfortable seating and a listening station where teenagers can try the latest music CDs before choosing which to borrow.
The old library, which was closed for a week to allow for the major job of moving thousands of books, CDs, DVDs and other items, is being demolished this week as part of the regeneration of the area.
The new Larbert Library, with its wave-shaped roof, is the flagship building for the £15 million Stenhousemuir town centre regeneration project.
