Parks

It’s great outdoors…

When it comes to the provision of public parks, the Falkirk Council area provides the very best in quality and choice. For those who prefer the great outdoors, the parks within the area offer an unrivalled combination of horticultural excellence and recreational facilities. In the past, Falkirk was famous for its industrial heritage but the last 20 years or so have seen a transformation from an industrial district to a pleasant green environment which is a joy to live and work.

Falkirk Council's success has been recognised in the ‘Scotland in Bloom’ competition with the Town of Falkirk winning the Best Large Town award on six occasions and the Best Large Town award in the ‘Britain in Bloom’ competition. Numerous certificates of commendation have also been awarded to other areas within the Council area. The parks of Falkirk District are well endowed with features and recreation facilities which creates a pleasant environment for both residents and visitors alike.

With over forty parks throughout the Falkirk Council area varying in size from 2 acres to almost 200 acres, you can be sure that you are never far away from some truly outstanding facilities. Whether you wish to enjoy the splendour of the floral displays, or maybe delve into the past at some of the ancient sites of perhaps you might want to participate in something more active, then whatever your preference the parks of Falkirk Council cater for all.
