Step Forth

step forth logo

The Step Forth scheme is a walking initiative that promotes local walking for health groups in the Falkirk area. The project aims to get more people active in their own communities, especially people who take little exercise or live in areas of poor health. It is aimed at all ages and abilities and it’s free and accessible.

The scheme has links with various organisations such as the Active Forth schemes in Grangemouth, Bo’ness, Camelon and Dawson; Cardiac Classes; Braveheart; Keep Ticking and Falkirk District Association for Mental Health.  We have walkers regularly referred from these groups, as well as the local community taking part.

An event we held last year was the 'Big Fit Walk' in Grangemouth and over 3,000 people stepped out with us on a 30 minute walk. This year it's going to be bigger and better because other towns are taking part throughout Forth Valley.

Step Forth

At the moment, we are going into all the schools in Bo’ness and Grangemouth and encouraging the school children to walk more With the obesity statistics for Scottish school children so high, we thought this was a great way of encouraging kids to become more active and providing information on the health benefits of walking.

Come and join one of our walks this week! See days/times below:
