Our very popular run, jump and throw club meets throughout the year and are usually either 8 or 10 weeks long.
Age groups
5 and 6 years old: Friday club (6.15–7.15pm)
This club focuses on FUNdamentals of movement skills and helps children gain vital skills which they need later in life. This class focuses on athletics but can be extremely beneficial to all children competing in a variety of sports. The class' focus is to provide a safe, relaxed and friendly environment whilst making new friends and having FUN.
Scottish Athletics state: "it is widely recognised that athletic activities – running, jumping and throwing – underpin every sport in Scotland and further afield."
Youngsters are introduced to a whole range of events whilst at the same time being taught all the basic skills, including agility, balance, co-ordination and speed; the essential ABC's to all sport.
7 and 8 years old: Friday club (7.30–8.30pm)
This club focuses on the learning to train stage and is similar to the younger age group but the focus begins to be on all athletics events.
The idea behind the younger class is that the children progress though the clubs then finally progress onto affiliated Athletics Clubs: Falkirk Victoria Harriers AC and Central AC.
9–14 years old: Monday club (6.30–8.00pm)
This club focuses on training to train stage and it aims to build upon the previous two clubs and develops a solid fitness platform and specific athletic skills needed for further development.
