Multisport nights for 12 to 25 year olds

Sport 4 Youth

Community Recreation is committed to delivering informal sporting opportunities to young people across the district, which it is hoped will encourage a new focus on healthy lifestyles and incorporate physical activity into everyday lives. This in turn will lead young people away from undesirable behaviour and hopefully feed into the community clubs and sport developments routes to progression, although the key aim remains to provide opportunities to socialise and participate without the pressure to progress.

Multisport nights

The sporting opportunities are specifically targeted at local level, using existing facilities such as small sports halls, community halls and artificial pitches that if possible are within the communities we are targeting. The most successful approach has been to incorporate these sporting opportunities into existing youth nights, where these exist, so some of the nights are run in partnership with Community Education Youth Workers|.

At present there are multisports nights operating in:

Other projects

In addition to our own nights, we provide support to other Council services and departments by assisting in the planning, development and staffing of other projects requiring less formal sports coaching.

We are working in partnership with Community Education| and Cultural Services|, and the Arts Development| Team to provide sporting activities at Slamannan Community Education Centre alongside their arts and music programme.
