Skate/bike parks

In 2001 a group of young people and adults came together with the idea of getting a skate park built in Falkirk.

Falkirk Council and Sport Scotland managed to start building the park in the July of 2004. The park was officially opened in September of 2004.

The permanent skate part is situated in Bellsmeadow.

The mobile skate park

Following on from this very successful community driven venture, Falkirk Council’s Community Recreation department has now managed to secure funding from the Local Action Fund supported by the Community Planning Partnership| to purchase a mobile skate facility.

The facility aims to tour the Falkirk area offering everyone the opportunity to have a go. Whether you are a beginner or an expert there is something for everyone at this brand new facility. The beauty is its versatility, with a number of different ramp combinations available!

as well as:
  • 2 fly offs
  • 1 fly off platform
  • 1 manual box
  • 1 angle grind box
  • 1 adjustable grind rail

Check out the 4 possible layouts that can be achieved with this mobile park! And remember any one of these parks can be set up, so each time you visit the park will be different (based on space available).

Why not vote on which layout you like the most, and tell us where you would like to see the park in action!

Take the skate park vote!|

All you need is a piece of flat ground where the tarmac or concrete surface is in good condition to set up the street park, or a hall where the floor is sound and suitable for skating. Alternatively the half pipe element can be set up on virtually any surface as long as it is level.

Some conditions will apply to the use of the Skate park. These will include:

  • All users must wear a helmet and a minimum of wrist guards. (On Council-led beginner and improver sessions you will be required to wear a helmet, wrist guards, elbow and knee pads. Safety equipment is available for loan.)
  • Children under 8 must be supervised by a Parent or Guardian.
  • There are maximum ratios on equipment and these must be adhered to.
  • Scooters are not allowed on the facility.
  • Wheeled trainers are not allowed on the facility.
  • Spectators will not be allowed on the park and must remain behind any barriers that are in place.
