Clubgolf

WHAT IS CLUBGOLF?

Clubgolf is a programme of golf classes devised by major golfing governing bodies (PGA, Scottish Golf Union, Scottish Ladies Golfing Association, and the Golf Foundation). It's funded by the Scottish Executive through sportscotland. Clubgolf is delivered by coaches/volunteers at local golf clubs and also by Sports Development coaches

FIRST CLUBGOLF

  • Introductory golf sessions using specific firstclubgolf equipment.
  • 6-hour course suitable for complete beginners aged 8-12 years.
  • Sports Development only offer first clubgolf during holiday programmes (not during term time)
  • Not essential for progression into further classes.
  • Every P5 pupil across Falkirk received first clubgolf as part of their PE lessons during 2007-08.

LEVEL 1 CLUBGOLF

(previously known as Stage 1 Year 1 Module 1 clubgolf)
  • The ideal course for children aged 8-14 years to develop basic golf skills learnt during firstclubgolf.
  • Participants use supplied junior golf clubs (or can bring their own) with classes taking place outdoors.
  • 10-hours duration delivered as 5 x 2-hr sessions.

LEVEL 2 CLUBGOLF

(previously known as Stage 1 Year 1 Module 2 clubgolf)
  • Builds on the skills learnt during Level 1.
  • Participants must have completed Level 1 before progressing to Level 2 or above.
  • 10-hours duration delivered as 5 x 2-hr sessions.

LEVEL 3 CLUBGOLF

(previously known as Stage 1 Year 2 Module 1 clubgolf)
  • Takes golf tuition to a higher level: idea for those keen to explore golfing skills in more detail and refine their game.
  • 10-hours duration delivered as 5 x 2-hr sessions.

LEVEL 4 CLUBGOLF


(previously known as Stage 1 Year 2 Module 2 clubgolf)
  • The ideal progression for children aged 8-14 years wanting to build upon the skills learnt in the Level 3 course.
  • 10-hours duration delivered as 5 x 2-hr sessions.

All sessions take place at Callendar Park Par 3 golf course and all golfing equipment is provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own.

Golf development classes take place during the golf season from approximately mid-March to end-October. Please contact Sports Development for details of the next available course.

Please note that classes and courses must be pre-booked by contacting Sports Development before attending classes. Unfortunately we cannot accept people onto courses unless they have pre-booked.
