A pest control and dog warden service is provided to control or eradicate a wide range of pests and control the stray dog population while promoting responsible dog ownership.
Pests
Pest infestations treated include: rats, mice, wasps, bees and fleas.
Pest problems not treated include: ants, foxes, rabbits, moles and spiders.

Stray dogs
Stray dogs are picked up and taken to Bandeath Stray Dog Shelter. A charge is made for the return of dogs to their owners.

Dog fouling
Under the Dog Fouling (Scotland) Act 2003 it is an offence not to clear up immediately after your dog has fouled in a public place. Dog wardens will carry out patrols and have the power to issue £40 fixed penalty fines when a dog fouling offence is witnessed.
Free 'poop scoops' are still available from any Council office or library.
