Real nappies

Happy Baby Poster

Real nappies are made of cloth and can be washed and reused over and over again..

Modern real nappies are soft, comfortable and come in various colours and patterns with easy to use fastenings.

How?

Real nappies consist of three parts:

  1. The liner goes between the nappy and the baby. It lets the wetness pass through and catches the solids. There are liners that can be lifted out of the nappy along with the solid content and flushed away, and ones that can be washed and reused.
  2. The nappy absorbs all the wetness.
  3. The cover keeps the whole pack snugly together and leak-proof.

There is no need to soak or pre-wash nappies; they can be washed hygienically at home in a 60°C washing machine cycle.

For extra convenience, local nappy laundries offer weekly services that collect used nappies and provide a fresh supply of nappies, laundered to the highest standards, for the next seven days.

Why?

Real nappies can save you money

The total cost of using real nappies can be half that of using disposable ones - and you can save even more when you use the same real nappies for your second or third child.

Real nappies are convenient

The modern real nappy designs and machine wash or laundry service make real nappies more convenient to use than ever before.

Real nappies are easy to useModern real nappies are soft, comfortable, safe and come in various colours and patterns with easy to use fastenings.

Real nappies mean less waste in the bin. In addition, using real nappies will reduce the amount of waste in your bin that goes to landfill sites.
