The Goals we scored in 2009
Last year was just amazing with all the incredible work achieved, none of which would have been possible without your help.
-
Falkirk had 37 clean ups in the month of April 2009 with over 3,239 volunteers picking up litter.
-
Communities and schools helped to facilitate 55 litter picks throughout the year.
-
Last year we doubled the amount of groups/individuals we worked with.
-
500 volunteers signed up for Green Dog Walkers.
-
We launched a successful new hard hitting dog fouling campaign.
-
Attended over 12 events – speaking to thousands of people getting our anti litter message across.
We should be proud that a lot has improved and efforts increased but our fight against litter has along way to go. We still need more help.

Connecting with the River Carron for National Spring Clean
As in previous years the Litter Team will be facilitating clean ups throughout the month of April to tie in with Keep Scotland Beautiful's National Spring Clean Campaign.
Last year the Launch of National Spring Clean was focused on cleaning up the Antonine Wall. The themed launch was such a success and raised the profile of the whole campaign that this year we want to try a similar idea but this time concentrate on our very own River Carron, which links in with the Communities along the Carron project.
The River Carron has long been neglected and litter is a big problem. A lot of funds and efforts are now in place to get the River Carron to its former glory. A regeneration group has formed and one of its first big initiatives will be a series of litter picks in April from Skinflats to Camelon to Denny to Fankerton. To get involved, just contact the Litter Team.
Remember, your litter pick does not have to be anywhere near the River Carron. It can be wherever you like in the Falkirk area, at any time of the year, come rain or shine.
Please keep your enthusiasm. Together we can change attitudes and make littering socially unacceptable!
Register now: start planning ahead, get promoting your event even now, start drumming up local support – your local schools, businesses, grannies, friends. We are here to help you all the way.
Thank you for your continued support.
