Kerbside box and sack

 

Kerbside Box
Falkirk Council is pleased to introduce a new kerbside recycling service for glass bottles and jars, small electrical items, batteries and textiles.

 

A black box will be provided for the glass bottles and jars, small electrical items and the batteries and two clear sacks will be provided for textiles.

The box will be sorted at the kerbside by the collection crew and the textile sacks will be collected and replaced with an empty sack. The box and sack will be collected on the same day as your blue bin. This service will be rolled out across the district from July 2009.

The following items can now be recycled using your black box.

  • Glass bottles and jars.
  • Small electrical items (any item with a plug or circuit board) such as toasters, kettles, hairdryers, games consoles, irons etc.
  • Batteries (watch batteries, mobile phone batteries, laptop batteries and household batteries (A, AA, AAA, C & D).

The following items can now be recycled using the textile recycling sacks.

  • Clothing.
  • Shoes (tied into pairs).
  • Bags.
  • Belts.
  • Blankets.
  • Quilt covers, pillow cases and sheets.
  • Duvets.

Please ensure that all textile items are dry, shoes are tied into pairs and that a knot is tied in the top of the bag to keep the textiles dry.
