Master Composter

Master Composter scheme The Forth Valley Master Composter Scheme is a great opportunity for people to learn about successful home composting techniques and discover a great resource in their rubbish.

Plant in compost
The scheme will train volunteers in the art of making and using great home compost, converting waste into wonderful crumbly compost that can give your garden a boost. As well as introducing these valuable techniques, volunteers will also be equipped with the necessary skills to go out and spread the word, hopefully enthusing others to give it a go.

Volunteers will have support from the FVMC project officer, and the chance to meet with other Master Composters to discuss techniques and expand their knowledge of environmental issues. The Forth Valley scheme is part of a Scottish Master Composter programme to minimise waste.

The next training course will be held in January 2010 at:

  • Camelon Education Centre
    Abercrombie Street
    Camelon
    Falkirk

Part 1 will be on Monday 18 January and Part 2 on Monday 25 January from 6.30 – 9 pm. To complete the training people will need to attend both sessions as different materials is covered in each session.
