Did you know, you can now recycle even more materials using your Falkirk Council blue bin?
The additional materials that are now taken in the blue bin are:
Mixed plastics such as:

coloured and clear plastic food trays

fruit punnets
-
margarine tubs
-
plastic lids
-
yoghurt pots
Please ensure that you rinse the plastics clean and remove any non plastic material such as cling film, food tray liners or netting.
Tetra pak such as:
-
soup cartons
-
juice cartons
-
milk cartons
-
smoothie cartons
-
custard cartons
Please rinse the cartons thoroughly.
These materials are in addition to those you could already recycle in the blue bin.
Paper such as:
-
envelopes (including window envelopes)
-
magazines
-
newspapers
-
office paper
-
yellow pages
-
brochures
-
catalogues
-
leaflets
Cardboard such as:
-
cereal boxes (please remove any non cardboard packaging e.g. bubblewrap or polystyrene)
-
cardboard packaging
-
brown corrugated cardboard boxes (please remove any non cardboard packaging e.g. bubblewrap or polystyrene)
-
toilet roll tubes
-
Shoe boxes
Food and drinks cans such as:
-
aluminium cans
-
steel cans
-
empty aerosols
-
all steel and aluminium lids
Please rinse the cans thoroughly.
Plastic bottles (including lids, but please separate these from the bottle) such as:
-
plastic juice bottles
-
plastic milk bottles
-
plastic cleaning product bottles
-
plastic shampoo bottles
Please use your blue bin to recycle as many of these materials as often as possible. Remember to rinse out any cans, plastic containers or tetra pak cartons to prevent them from smelling.
