Falkirk Council Catering Services delivers a lunch service for primary pupils that:
-
Provides value for money
-
Offers menu choices children want to eat, while complying with The Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) Scotland Act 2007
-
Accommodates special dietary requirements
The current 3 Week Lunch Menu Cycle (PDF, 1.2MB)| is attached. Pupils are able to select a traditional hot meal or a Soup and Sandwich option on a daily basis. Pupils are encouraged to "top up" their lunch by choosing from a daily selection of bread, chilled water, salads and fruit which is included in the meal price.
When pupils return on 23 August we start back on Week3 Tues.
Following a successful trial period the majority of Falkirk Primary Schools are now operating a daily pre order system. Pupils select their main course during morning registration and are given a coloured wrist band to identify that meal choice. Pupils are guaranteed their first choice of main meal - good news for parents too as they are able to discuss next day's menu options at home - should they want.
Vegetarian choices are indicated on the menu planner however additional meat free options can be provided. Parents should contact their child's school kitchen for further information on either the pre order lunch system or vegetarian options.
Falkirk Council Catering Services also:
-
provides a breakfast service in selected schools
-
coordinates and manages the nursery lunch service
We would like to thank parents for their continued support in sending their child for a school lunch.
