Antisocial behaviour such as noisy neighbours, graffiti, vandalism, harassment and violence can make life a misery for people.
To improve the quality of life for people living in communities throughout the Falkirk area, three specialist services are available to offer support and advice to people who are having problems with neighbours and to help neighbours to resolve their difficulties.
A brief description of the services is given below.
Mediation service
The mediation service |gives people the opportunity to resolve disputes with the help of professionally trained mediators. For mediation to be effective neighbours must show that they are willing to resolve the situation. Mediation is a voluntary process.
FIRST (Falkirk Investigation, Response and Support Team)
FIRST| is a specialist service established to deal with antisocial behaviour. The investigation and support officers provide intensive support to residents affected by antisocial behaviour.
Individuals within the Falkirk community whose behaviour is unacceptable and is affecting other members of the community can be supported to modify the offending behaviour or in extreme cases court action can be pursued.
