Advice on how to look after your water systems has been issued to all Falkirk Council tenants.
What to look out for
You should look out for the following signs as these may mean that the thermostat on your hot water system has failed, which may cause the water to overheat and could be dangerous:
-
excessively hot water coming out of the hot water taps
-
excessive noise or 'bubbling' from the hot water cylinder
-
hot water coming out of cold water taps
-
steam or moisture in your roof space
If you notice any of these signs, turn off your immersion heater system immediately and telephone 01324 590590 to request an emergency repair|. Do not try to fix any problems yourself as this work should be carried out by a qualified plumber.
While serious accidents involving hot water in the home are very rare, you should take action immediately if you notice any of these warning signs.
This advice is intended for those tenants who do not obtain their hot water and heating from a combination boiler.
