Domestic violence

The Council has a legal duty to help you if you experiencing violence or are threatened with violence from someone you live with or used to live with. The violence can be physical, sexual, psychological, emotional or financial.

If you are experiencing domestic violence you should contact the Accommodation Resource Centre (ARC) using the details in the Contact Us panel.

In an emergency situation when the office is closed you should phone 01324 503050 or freephone 0800 587 4440.

Women’s Aid

If you are experiencing domestic violence you might want to contact Women’s Aid|. Women’s Aid is a charity that provides a comprehensive service to women and their children, who are suffering from the effects of domestic violence.

There is a staffed office in Falkirk, which is open from 9.30am–3.30pm, Monday–Friday. There is also a crisis helpline which operates when the office is closed (at night, weekends and public holidays). If you contact the helpline a worker will offer information, support and refuge accommodation if needed.

As well as the office, which has a drop in facility, there is also shared refuge accommodation and self-contained accommodation available.
