Homelessness

Homelessness is something that happens to many ordinary people all over the country.

Falkirk Council has a legal duty to help you if you are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. This legal duty is laid down in Part 11 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987 and amended by the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001.

Who should I contact?

If you:
  • have nowhere you can stay
  • have accommodation but you can’t live in it
  • are going to become homeless within two months
you should contact the Accommodation Resource Centre (ARC) using the details given in the Contact Us panel.

In an emergency situation, when the office is closed, you should phone 01324 503050 or freephone 0800 587 4440.
