While we are assessing your case you have the right to temporary housing, if you need this.
The Council has a range of temporary accommodation to meet the needs of people in different situations. If the Council has a duty to provide you with temporary housing you will be offered one of the following that are located in different parts of the Council area:
Where possible your preferences and needs will be taken into account when finding you temporary housing. However, because of the high demand on the homeless service, it may not be possible for you to choose where you stay or the type of temporary accommodation you stay in.
If you do not agree with the decision that is made about your temporary accommodation placement you can ask for the decision to be reviewed. For more information on how to lodge an appeal see our homeless appeal process leaflet (PDF, 361KB)|.
For more information about temporary accommodation see our leaflet, Your temporary accommodation (PDF, 251KB)| which is also available from the Accommodation Resource Centre.
