There are approximately 16,410 houses (as at June 2009) spread across the Council area in the main towns of Falkirk, Denny, Stenhousemuir, Grangemouth and Bo’ness as well as outlying areas and villages.
The seven allocation areas are based on the High School cluster areas. You can choose as many of these as you like.
General needs housing
Most of our housing (16,010) is classed as general needs properties such as:
-
cottages (detached, semi-detached or terraced with own access, on two levels i.e. upstairs and downstairs
-
4 in a block flats (own access, ground floor and upper floor)
-
flats and maisonettes (where access is from a common internal close, ground floor and upper floor)
Housing with Care
Houses classed as Housing with Care are houses for older people who are physically frail and need care and support services at home. Many of these houses have been designed or adapted to make living easier for older people.
A Directory of Housing with Care is also available which provides helpful information about all the Housing with Care developments in the Council area. This includes schemes managed by both the Council and Housing Associations.
