Activate is a motivational employability programme, delivered by Careers Scotland Advisors. The programme is designed to support pupils who are not achieving well at school and who are very likely to become part of the young people who become NEET (not in education, employment or training) on leaving school.
The programme is flexible and can be offered to S4 summer leavers, S5 winter leavers or S5/6 summer leavers who are not ready to participate in other programmes.
A Careers Scotland Advisor will usually work with three schools, leading an Activate group of around 10 – 12 young people in the short winter leavers programme and around 8 – 10 in the long summer leavers programme in each school.
