This project is about engaging effectively with young people who have left school to reduce the number of young people remaining disengaged. The project provides a range of post school activities and interventions and links to the piloting of the 16+ guarantee for young people and thus includes two elements:

stemming the flow to NEET (not in education, employment or training) by providing a guaranteed post school offer (currently around 40% of the 1600 school leavers will require this additional provision)

reducing the previous school leavers who have not gained or sustained a post school option (currently around 600)
The project will specifically focus on activities which enhances three areas of service delivery:

Pre Employment Support – initial engagement, employability planning, core skills, motivation and confidence etc.

Non Contract Provision – national programmes require compliance to be met and are often inappropriate to meet the needs of some young people. This provision will enable more tailored interventions.

Enhanced Work Based Training – this activity will support the pathways progression for young people to work based vocational training and mainstream provision via Skillseekers/Modern Apprenticeships through alternative entry routes.
