This project aims to use volunteering as a route to employment. The programme will specifically target people living or working in the worst 15% SIMD areas. The project will:
-
Raise awareness of volunteering as a route to employment or improved employability
-
Work with 180 people who will have one-to one interviews and be supported towards volunteering and develop soft skills essential for employability
-
Enable people to develop specific job-seeking skills and give them an increased sense of personal responsibility
-
Work with people to produce a personal development log to record their learning and achievements, to help with CV's, application forms etc
-
Develop partnerships with local voluntary groups and organisations to provide meaningful, supported volunteering opportunities
-
Directly benefit 50 voluntary and community groups by placing volunteers with them.
