In 2009 the introduction of the Concordat between local government and the Scottish Government saw previously ringfenced funding move to be included in the main financial allocation made to the Council. The four community safety budgets at that time were the Local Action Fund, Antisocial Behaviour Strategy Budget, Community Warden Service Budget and the Community Safety Award Programme.
It was agreed that rather than having four different budgets, these would be amalgamated under one budget, which was re-named the Community Safety Projects Budget. The remainder of the budget is now utilised to support specific initiatives in line with community safety priorities and Single Outcome Agreement (SOA) outcomes for community safety.
