We will take a holistic approach to promoting lifelong learning for all our citizens. We will seek to provide learning experiences that will enable all children, young people and adults to achieve their potential and participate in developing a fair and caring society. This means recognising the many and varied barriers to learning for children, young people and adults in the area. We aim to ensure that learning opportunities are available in ways and at times to suit learners.
We also believe that a culture of high expectation amongst parents, pupils and communities is fundamental to raising achievement and attainment. This would be accompanied by increased levels of confidence, resilience and self-esteem of all our young people and adults. To derive the maximum benefit from any form of education, it is important that individuals are healthy, happy, can learn in a safe environment and are effectively supported in their learning where necessary.
