In order to achieve our vision and enhance lifelong learning and opportunity we will:

develop approaches to learning that give children and their families the opportunity to experience appropriate and relevant childcare and school experiences

promote early learning experiences for all young children to enable them to have the best possible start

raise achievement and attainment in our schools and in our community

develop creative and innovative opportunities for lifelong learning through access to culture and leisure

engage with all our citizens to promote personal and social development and provide learning opportunities that encourage active citizenship and participation in community life

increase lifetime earnings potential for all our citizens

support community-based lifelong learning provision.
Importantly, the first priority will be to develop an action plan that clearly sets out how we will achieve our priorities.
