Many people who have a learning disability or mental health problem have little control over their own resources, and are often given 'pocket money' which they spend on small non-essential items. It is important that young people who are faced with these issues are, where possible, given the opportunity to learn skills that will enable them to live as independently in the future as they possibly can.
-

-
Children and young people with learning disabilities are 6 times more likely to have mental health problems than other young people.
