When Council projects are being designed and constructed, they must comply with all relevant energy efficiency and sustainability legislation.
The Building Design Unit, through the Community Design Team|, provides the following services:

technical input into all energy issues covering energy efficiency, ventilation, condensation, indoor air quality and health

the development of a Sustainable Construction Design Guide

training and advice to Engineering Design staff on energy and sustainability legislation

the monitoring and update of Roads and Design information on current legislation and guidance on all matters relating to sustainable construction and environmental objectives

obtaining of external grants and funding in these areas, for the benefit of the Council area.
