The forms you have to complete as part of an application for Planning Permission vary depending on the type of development you intend to carry out.
Applications for Householder Development should be made on the form we have designed specifically for that purpose. Householder development consists of virtually everything you would possibly do within the curtilege of your house, from a major extension to the erection of a fence, but excludes the creation or building of another house.
For most other forms of development, the standard Planning Application form should be used. This includes the erection of new houses, changes of use and all applications for outline Planning Permission.
If the development you intend to carry out affects a listed building, or affects the setting of a listed building, you may require both Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent. Special forms have to be completed in respect of this type of development.
If you wish to install certain types of sign, advertisement or hoarding, you may need to apply for Advertisement Consent. We have an Advertisement form specific to this type of application.
A note about Falkirk Council's planning application forms
Falkirk Council's Planning Application forms are designed to be user friendly and contain guidance notes adjacent to each section. Many people are apprehensive about completing forms, and mistakes, omissions and unclear statements can lead to delays in dealing with applications.
We therefore welcome the opportunity to give advice on completing forms whenever possible. The Duty Officer will be pleased to help.
