Planning Permission will probably not be required for the formation of an access / driveway provided the conditions outlined below are met. Written confirmation should always be sought before carrying out work.
The access road or driveway must:

not provide access onto a trunk or classified road (classified roads include most roads that form through routes, even if they are not A or B roads) - we will be able to confirm if a road is classified - Tel. (01324) 504950

be required in connection with a development that, in itself, does not require Planning Permission, e.g. in order to gain access to an off-street parking space
Please note that if the access is required in relation to a development for which Planning Permission was required, such as a very large garage, permission to create the access road or driveway would also be needed.
